Why being selfish is good (podcast)
Can being selfish be a good thing? There is nothing wrong with doing the things you like, as long as no one else is being hurt. Don’t apologize or justify. Just enjoy, and in the process, you will add happiness to yourself and others.

HI Luanne, Just discovered (via Gretchen Rubin) you and your podcast. Having just come out of a year long depression, I could definitely connect with many things you have to say. Since you mentioned multiple times that you are a reader (can you believe I won’t ALLOW myself to read in the daytime,) I am shamelessly going to recommend my husband’s memoir recently published by FSG. http://www.barnesandnoble.com//unlikely-warrior-georg-rauch/1118931350?ean=9780374301422 Georg wrote it 30 years ago in German and I translated and edited it. We self-published in 2006, but I never gave up on getting a “real publisher” and it finally happened. It’s available in hardback and audio. Am going to login to your site now and hope I’ll be notified of future podcasts. Phyllis
Thank you for stopping by, Phyllis. I will check out your husband’s memoir. Congratulations on persevering to publication.
I hope you will reconsider allowing yourself to read in the daytime. if you love it, why not allow yourself to be happy?

Think I finally figured out how to subscribe both to your and Gretchen’s podcasts. What a delightful change in the evening from commercial entertainments. I’d like to start my own blog too, so catching up on your 100! podcasts will, I hope, provide me with some inspiration on where to begin and how to proceed.
Wonderful! By the way, the link to your husband’s book did not work. I found it by searching on his name.
