Patience is a trait that is lacking in many a modern human experience, but winter is an excellent season to learn patience. Some things cannot be hurried; the passing of the cold weather, the melting of the snows, the first green shoots of spring will not be rushed. I’ve always been fascinated by how snow muffles the noise of the world. A snowfall creates a hush. If we can find a quiet place inside ourselves, we can find the patience to wait.
